School Workshops to Walton Film Festival….
The Dramacube Movie-Makers team were in Walton last week, celebrating 120 years of the first-ever film production of Alice in Wonderland. The film was produced by local resident and renowned director and producer, Cecil Hepworth. Schools throughout Walton enjoyed participating in free film-making workshops which were generously funded by the Charity of Robert Phillips. Students enjoyed film-themed drama games, learnt about different film genres and explored how Cecil Hepworth used a variety of innovative techniques to make the first film. It was then time to get creative as they made their own version of Alice in Wonderland set in Walton in 2023. Inspired by the original film each group of talented young film-makers wrote scripts, donned costume and made their very own film giving a new slant to the famous story.
the inaugural Walton Film Festival which runs until the end of June. The films were also sent to each school for a private screening. From school workshops to Walton Film festival- what a jump!
