It is hard to believe that half term is already upon us, but I’m pleased to report that rehearsals in Hampton Hill and Twickenham are going very well and we are already seeing some excellent comical performances shining through. Here you can see Tom and Milly, our Hook & Smee in the Hampton Hill cast, rehearsing one of their scenes together.
I have also been extremely impressed with the beautiful singing voices we are hearing each week. The opening number, sung by Tinker Bell and the Fairies in both casts is beautiful. Look out also for What Makes a Brave Man Brave, particularly the solo part by Tiger Lily. This is such a lovely song, and having split that role, we have four extremely talented young singers all doing a great job. I can’t wait to see them mesmerize audience at Hampton Hill Theatre in April.
Half term is a great time for children to work on their scripts so please encourage them to learn their lines and lyrics and make sure they are word perfect at the next rehearsal. As I often tell the casts, they will benefit so much more from the rehearsals if they are comfortable and confident with their lines.
With half term falling so early this year, it will be a busy run in to the show in April, particularly as we are opening a new branch of Dramacube Productions in Kingston. We’ve decided to launch the new venue with a week long, intensive holiday production of Peter Pan JR, which will be performed on the Saturday afternoon of production week. And with a musical theatre showcase planned that week as well, Hampton Hill Theatre will be buzzing with talented young performers.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of my team for their hard work so far this term and wish you all a very happy holiday. We look forward to seeing you again very soon.
