News from the Cube!
With our final Zoom session this afternoon, we cannot wait to welcome everyone back tomorrow as restrictions lift for Tier 2 areas.
I’ve already heard mutterings of the Richmond borough making an application to be downgraded to Tier One, but that does seem unlikely given the other areas set at that level are mainly rural.
With the latest regulations in place there does of course come some confusion and we’ve had to make a number of changes, with certain venues not reopening or closing for a prolonged period over Christmas.
At the time of writing we are waiting to hear if Hampton Hill Theatre will review their decision to remain closed to audiences until the new year. It would certainly be lovely to see our young performers appear there again before Christmas.
It is great to see Theatres opening up again, and I was particularly pleased to see one of my favourites, The Play that Goes Wrong listed as one of the first to open.
For many it is simply not viable and we still find ourselves with this dilemma with regards to Annie Jr. which was pulled just before lockdown back in March.
We are hoping to stage the show again in March 2021, almost a year exactly after it was pulled.
We’ll be doing lots of research prior to making an announcement, including sending a survey out to parents getting their feedback on what feels right.
As much as we want the show to go on, the safety of all our students and staff remains our first priority.
As always thank you for your support through these challenging times and we look forward to seeing you all at our venues in Hampton Hill and Twickenham over the coming days.
