Abbey Mordue Joins the Team for The Wizard of Oz

Abbey Mordue – Musical Theatre Teacher

Autumn term production of The Wizard of Oz.

Abbey was born in Australia and started her singing career at the tender age of 7 when performed at The Sydney Opera House.

Having relocated to London, Abbey went on to study ‘Acting for the Musical Stage’ at The Royal Central School of Speech & Drama. She later recieved a scholarship to study at The Guildhall School of Music & Drama and acquired a Master’s in Music, specialising in Jazz Singing.

Abbey has played many roles on both stage and screen and is probably best known for playing the role of ‘Kerry’ on Channel 4’s ‘The Inbetweeners’. She has also fronted ‘Mickey’s Christmas Big Band’ at Disneyland Paris and co-founded the music comedy group ‘Four Femmes on the Thames’ who won ‘The UK Music Comedy Awards 2016.

These days Abbey can be found fronting ‘The Jitter Kings’ and ‘Madame Mixtape’ and holds singing residencies at Ronnie Scott’s and Soho House venues. With all this vocal experience under her belt Abbey now coaches young students to get into Drama School and Music Academies.

Abbey will be working with Director Matthew Bunn and Choreographer K’ja Young-Thomas and will also join the team at Hampton Hill Theatre for the Mary Poppins summer holiday workshop.
