We are delighted to confirm that we have secured the performing rights for Disney’s Aladdin Jr.
Based on the award winning film and Broadway hit, Aladdin Jr. is about the “diamond in the rough” street rat who learns that his true worth lies deep within.
With expanded fun characters, new and exciting songs (as well as the classics such as, Friend like Me, Prince Ali and A Whole New World), and lots more thrills, this new adaptation of the much loved story will open up “a whole new world” for young performers!
This magical musical will go into rehearsal in early January with performances in late March/early April 2019 on the main stage at Hampton Hill Theatre.
Auditions for new members are taking place on Sunday 25th November in Hampton Hill and Twickenham. No prior experience required.
Artistic Director, Matthew Bunn will head up this production, supported by Musical Director Dan Turek and choreographer K’ja Young-Thomas. We are also delighted to confirm that Akshy Marayen will return to design costumes and Christine Osborne to design set.
Rehearsals take place at Hampton Hill Theatre on Tuesday afternoons, the United Reformed Church in Hampton Hill on Wednesday afternoons, The Exchange Theatre in Twickenham on a Friday and St. Mary’s University, Twickenham on a Saturday.
Places will be offered on a first come first served basis to existing members. Please note; existing company members are not required to attend the open audition on Sunday 25th November.
Roles in the production will be given out prior to the February half term break.
